چکیده

We describe CLAD, an implemented advisor system in the domain of clinical medicine. CLAD assists a human physician in making decisions about diagnosing and treating patients. CLAD monitors the transcript of an ongoing dialog between the physician and a patient, builds and augments a mental model of the patient and suggests courses of action to the physician. CLAD can also explain its decisions and describe its understanding of the beliefs (including ethics-related beliefs), goals, plans, personality traits, biases and other features of the patient – both directly observed ones and obtained through CLAD’s own reasoning processes. The paper includes a detailed analysis of several examples of CLAD operation that illustrate the interaction between mindreading and moral judgment.

Mechanism Design with Bounded Depth of Reasoning and Small Modeling Mistakes∗

We consider mechanism design in contexts in which agents exhibit bounded depth of reasoning (level k) instead of rational expectations. We use simple direct mechanisms, in which agents report only first-order beliefs. While level 0 agents are assumed to be truth tellers, level k agents best-respond to their belief that other agents have at most k− 1 levels of reasoning. We find that incentive c...

A Logic for Reasoning about Explicit Knowledge in Finite Agents (Abstract)

The Problem Epistemic logics are logics for reasoning about knowledge in systems of agents. Traditional modal epistemic logics are information-theoretical, in the sense that they consider knowledge about propositions and that agents know everything that follows from the information they possess. Although proved useful in many applications, this view is unrealistic when modeling explicit knowled...

Agent Based Simulation of Sale and Manufacturing Agents Acting Across a Pharmaceutical Supply Chain

Agent based modeling and simulation consider the behavior of agents acting in a system. The agents' interactions result in changing the agent’s behavior, the whole agent based system, and its environment. In this study, the manufacturing, sale, and receiving orders behaviors pertinent to manufacturing and sale agents acting across a pharmaceutical supply chain of an Iranian manufacturing medici...
